ABOUT
SKYWARD SPEECH

Unlocking communication through connection

Welcome to Skyward Speech!  I have been a certified Speech-Language Pathologist for the past 14 years; in that time I have worked with hundreds of preschool and early elementary-aged children.

I am especially passionate about supporting children who may be shy or anxious about their speech. I've developed a strong ability to help all children to feel safe, supported, and successful as they work toward their communication goals. I take pride in building genuine, playful connections with children, and I believe that trust is the foundation for helping kids to take brave steps forward.

My areas of clinical interest include: diagnosis and treatment of complex speech sound disorders (including Childhood Apraxia of Speech, phonological disorders, and articulation delays), preschool receptive and expressive language difficulties, and fostering strong pre-literacy skills in young learners.

A graduate of the University of Alberta, I am proud to call Edmonton home! In 2010, I obtained my Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and quickly discovered my passion for supporting children to improve the clarity of their speech. Since then, I have completed advanced trainings and certifications across North America, including the CAS Advanced Training Workshop with Dr. Edythe Strand, and the Apraxia Kids National Conferences. I am a certified member of ACSLPA (Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists), and belong to SAC (Speech-Language & Audiology Canada). In my spare time, you might find me enjoying a walk at Terwillegar dog park, exploring a new local restaurant, or spending time with my husband and two children.

I would love to know more about your family, and how I can best support the young people in your lives. There is no better feeling than seeing a child take their communication skills skyward!
