We offer in-person services at our south side Edmonton office, as part of the Brick House Collective. You’ll find a family-friendly waiting area, accessible entry, convenient parking, and a welcoming environment. Virtual sessions are also available for clients throughout Alberta.
We specialize in working with preschool and elementary-aged children to improve their communication skills.
We typically offer either 45-minute or 60-minute sessions. The length and frequency of sessions can be tailored to each child’s needs. We will take into account factors such as your child's age, attention, diagnosis and goals. For many families, once a week is a great fit, though some children will do best with more frequent, intensive practice.
Services are billed at a rate of $170 per hour. This fee includes 50 minutes of direct client time, and 10 minutes for documenting and planning our next session! Many insurance plans provide coverage for speech and language therapy. It’s a good idea to contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage and any requirements for reimbursement.
It is so important to establish trust and connection at the beginning of speech therapy - particularly for younger or shy children. At your first session, I will spend time playing and building rapport with your child, while also gathering information from you, the parent. Once your child is comfortable I will use a variety of formal and informal measures to gather the information that I will need to recommend next steps, and potential goal areas for our sessions together.
At the start of each session, we’ll check in about home practice and any changes you’ve noticed since our last visit. From there, we move into structured practice focused on your child’s communication goals. I work to make speech sound therapy both fun and productive—in a typical session, your child may complete more than 100 practice trials of their target words or phrases! We’ll always leave time at the end to review your home practice plan, discuss next steps, and answer your questions.
Absolutely! Please let me know as soon as possible if you will require a written report or summary of our time together. Report writing is billed at our hourly rate. Short, informal summaries usually require just 1 hour to prepare, while a formal assessment report may take 2-4 hours of writing time. For preschool-aged children, I am experienced at writing formal reports for PUF eligibility.
If you need to cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, a 50% fee will apply unless we’re able to reschedule or provide the session in another format (such as a virtual session or parent coaching).
